How Solar Panels Work

A solar panel is made of photovoltaic (PV) cells — usually silicon — that generate a small electric current when sunlight strikes them. Many cells wired together make a panel; many panels wired together make an array. An inverter then converts the panel’s raw DC output into the AC electricity your home or business actually uses, and (for grid-tied systems) a net meter tracks how much you export back to the grid.

The most common myth is that solar is unaffordable upfront. For homes, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy (₹30,000/kW up to 2 kW, capped at ₹78,000) cuts a meaningful chunk off the invoice before you pay a rupee — and for businesses, accelerated depreciation under the Income Tax Act recovers a large share of the cost in year one. What Installation Looks Like

  1. Site survey: our engineers assess your roof type, shading, structure and sanctioned load.
  2. Design & quote: a system sized to your consumption, with panel/inverter selection and a fixed price.
  3. Approvals: DISCOM net-metering application and any subsidy paperwork, handled on your behalf.
  4. Installation: mounting structure, panels, inverter and DCDB/ACDB wiring — typically a few days for a home system.
  5. Net meter & commissioning: DISCOM inspection, net meter fitted, system switched on.
